biography

Apostolos Leventopoulos is a guitarist, currently living in Athens, Greece. He started his musical education at the age of nine, studying piano for about seven years. He later switched on guitar, studying at Synxrono Odeio and Agostini Music School in Thessaloniki. He won a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music, where he studied guitar with John Thomas, Ritchie Hart, John Pezanelli, Mick Goodrick, Jon Damian, Garrison Fewell, improvisation with Ed Tomassi, George Garzone, Tiger Okoshi, Jeff Galindo, theory and composition with Steve Rochinski, Ken Pullig, arranging with Ben Elkins, Scott Free, and others. He graduated in 2001 (Bachelor in Jazz Performance - Dean's List), and participated in the group that represented Berklee College at Berklee International Network that same year. He has also attended many seminars given by players like Peter Bernstein, Hiram Bullock, Jimmy Greene, Alan Holdsworth, Pat Martino, Pat Metheny, Ben Monder, Kurt Rosenwinkel, John Scofield, Mark Turner, Jeff ''Tain'' Watts and others.

He has played with many well known greek and international jazz musicians (Sean Corby, Alex Foster, Marek Patrman, Logan Richardson, Rex Richardson, Peter Slavov, Yoel Soto, Dayna Stephens, Erik Vermeulen, Jason Yarde, Giorgos Kontrafouris, Sofia Noiti, Takis Paterelis, Dimitris Tsakas, Dimitri Vassilakis and others), in various jazz, funk, R&B and world music bands, and has performed in festivals and concert halls in various countries, such as

Βιογραφικό

Ο Απόστολος Λεβεντόπουλος ξεκίνησε τις μουσικές του σπουδές σε ηλικία εννέα ετών. Μετά από επτά χρόνια πιάνου, αποφασίζει να ασχοληθεί με την κιθάρα. Αρχικά αυτοδίδακτος, παρακολουθεί μαθήματα στο Σύγχρονο Ωδείο και στο Agostini Music School της Θεσσαλονίκης. Αργότερα κερδίζει μια υποτροφία για το Berklee College of Music της Βοστώνης όπου σπουδάζει κιθάρα με τους John Thomas, Ritchie Hart, John Pezanelli, Mick Goodrick, Jon Damian, Garrison Fewell, αυτοσχεδιασμό με τους Ed Tomassi, George Garzone, Tiger Okoshi, Jeff Galindo, σύνθεση και θεωρητικά με τους Steve Rochinski, Ken Pullig, ενορχήστρωση με τους Ben Elkins, Scott Free, κ.α. Αποφοιτεί το 2001 με έπαινο (Bachelor σε Jazz Performance), και την ίδια χρονιά συμμετέχει στο γκρουπ που εκπροσωπεί το Berklee στο Berklee International Network. Έχει διδάξει κιθάρα και θεωρητικά στο Ωδείο Τέχνης Γιώργος Φακανάς (2002-2007) στο Ελεύθερο Ωδείο (2002-2008), καθώς και πλήθος ιδιαιτέρων μαθημάτων. Από το 2011 διδάσκει στο Ωδείο Φίλιππος Νάκας, και συνεχίζει να δουλεύει σε διάφορα μουσικά σχήματα και πρότζεκτ ως session μουσικός.
